Behavior and Training
From brain disorders to house-training. Gary's skills encompass a wide spectrum of knowledge at the highest levels of difficulty.
The mainstream of dog trainers offer solutions that take weeks to months. That is because their methods are formulas gleaned from books and other trainers. Gary Wilkes has been an innovator since his start as a trainer in the late 1980's. He had to create new methods because then, as now, no one was offering what dog owners deserately needed - immediate solutions! Want to stop five dogs from charging the front door? It should take about ten minutes. Teach a dog to not jump up on guests? Five minutes. Want to teach a dog an ironclad boundary so you can get rid of kiddie gates? Gary can do that easily, no matter how long your dog has been out of control.

No, not all training solutions can be corrected in a few minutes. However, teaching new, dependable behaviors requires different rules than creating inhibitions. Housetraining takes time. Stopping aggression must be immediate. Rather than offering just one perspective, Gary Wilkes stops unacceptable behavior immediately and creates a foundation for acceptable behavior in the future.  His training is customized to the owner's desires - they are his boss, he provides the services.
Gary Wilkes began his career with animals as a shelter manager. He spent 8 years in that field and handled tens of thousands of dogs. Over the last 30 years he has perfected methods that offer rapid, effective solutions to the problems associated with dog ownership - and a whole lot more.
