Puppies start learning at about three weeks a_tugnclik_copyof age - long before most people take them into their homes. There are two very important things to realize about early puppy training -- first, the things that cause people to get rid of their pups start as soon as they get them -- i.e. puppies don't wait until they get older to cause problems. Second, inhibitions taught in infancy can last a lifetime. This means that if you stop your pup's inappropriate biting, chewing and leaping on guests, you can stop those behaviors for a lifetime. If you wait until they take hold and become habits, they are likely to  resist your efforts to stop them.

Puppy training by Gary Wilkes focuses on the things that every puppy needs to know to survive in the world of humans. This coincidentally happens to cover the behaviors that most dog owners can't  tolerate. Pups are taught to not bite human hands, fingers and faces. They are also taught boundaries in the house -- which instantly stops problems like peeing and pooping in the living room, darting out the front door and chewing up inappropriate objects. House training is a crucial skill that takes a high priority. All training is private and conducted by Gary Wilkes. Don't worry about age -- if you already have the puppy, it is old  enough to start structured learning.
