Training for Real Dogs in the Real World

If you already have experience as a professional trainer, instructor or serious competitor, this page is for you. Regardless of your background, learning a new perspective on training is difficult. Our brains are designed to resist change and hold steadfastly to the rule, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." The more expert we are at any skill, the harder it is to become a student again. Our previous knowledge and behaviors tend to stop us from starting at the beginning and doing what we routinely expect of our students. That being said, here are some suggestions about what to do and what tools will help you get started.

Good luck, I think you'll find it worth the effort....Gary Wilkes wilkesgm@aol.com

The Front & Finish Articles: For about two years I wrote a column for Front & Finish. I have posted about a year and a half worth of those columns. The are in the sequence that I chose with your audience in mind. If you start with number one and continue onward, you'll have a pretty good idea of this method and how to use it.

Training Videos: I have three videos available at this time. If you have no control issues with your dog, I recommend the Click & Treat Training Kit and the On Target videos. We have a special package price for them - we call it "The Trainer's Pair."

If you have a dog who is generally obedient, but still has control issues in comeptition or in public, I recommend out other package, "The Perfect Pair" - the  Click & Treat Training Kit and the Doggie Repair Kit. This is also a great package if you are doing private training or behavior modification.

If you want to steep yourself in clicker training and get a broader  view of this method, you might consider our "Three for All" - all three videos with a reduced price that saves you $30. It's a bargain.
